Spring Volunteer Program
Come volunteer in Haiti this Spring Break and make memories of a lifetime!
At HAC-Haiti, we believe education is the key to empowering people to support themselves, their families, and their communities to rise out of poverty. We run programs throughout Haiti focused on primary education, economic development, and public health. Our programs include:
- A primary school with more than 300 students
- An after school program
- An adult English and professional development school of more than 200 students
- A microfinance program serving more than 800 entrepreneurs
- A goat husbandry program
- Women’s and men’s community groups
- Public health education training
- A first responder/EMT course
All of these programs are enhanced and expanded due to committed volunteer support throughout the year.
This year we are excited to announce our alternative spring break program where individuals, friends, and university groups work on a service project of their choice in public health, English education, primary education, our after school program, construction, agriculture, and more while having the exciting opportunity to explore the Caribbean island. We take our volunteers on several cultural immersion excursions both fun and educational to experience another side of Haiti than what is typically seen in the news. Volunteers experience the country’s rich culture, strength, and beauty while meeting change-makers, and interacting with individuals from all walks of life.
Generally, spring break groups stay for 6 or 7 days. The first rotation will begin the last week of February and the last rotation will run through April.
Accommodations: Volunteers live in a shared space on the second floor of our compound. Transportation to and from the airport, 3 meals a day, purified drinking water, twin or bunk style beds, Western style bathrooms with running water, and Wi-Fi internet access are all included in your program fee. Transportation and meals during in-country excursions are also included. Volunteers are responsible for airfare and any personal expenses throughout their stay in Haiti.
Space is limited, so contact us now to secure your group's place!
